Manning suffered a huge gash on his head during his team’s first preseson game against the New York Jets.

Blood immediately began spilling from his head and he quickly headed off the field and into the locker room.

He did not return to the game and received 12 stitches. The good news is that he did not suffer a concussion.

Manning was forced to miss the Giants second preseason game, making it critical he sees action against the Ravens.

Andrews, formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles, will get a chance to beat up on his former team twice this season.

He was released by the Eagles because of constant battles with a back injury as well as depression.

Talent was never a question, but Andrews had trouble staying on the field because of injuries and off-the-field issues.

The Giants said they were really impressed with the workout they saw from Andrews and think he can really help them.

The team’s star safety missed all of last season after undergoing microfracture surgery on his left knee in September.

The loss of Phillips was a big reason why the Giants defense struggled so much and the team failed to make the playoffs.

While Phillips has returned to practice, head coach Tom Coughlin is going to bring him along slowly.

Phillips said he never had any doubts about returning to football because doctors told him he would make a full recovery.

Tyree’s moment of glory quickly faded away, as the wide receiver could not overcome a number of injuries.

He briefly signed with the Baltimore Ravens last year to provide some help on special teams coverage, but he couldn’t stick with the team.

Giants fans certainly won’t forget his seven-year NFL career, as the helmet catch will go down as one of the greatest plays in the history of the league.

Tyree played five seasons with the Giants and said that he will always consider himself a part of the New York football family.

Bulluck played all 10 seasons of his career with the Tennessee Titans but was not re-signed after last season.

The linebacker suffered a torn ACL and has spent the offseason trying to rehab the injury despite not being under the guidance of any NFL team.

A native of New York, Bulluck spent much of the offseason rehabbing his knee in the area and gained a desire to return to the city while continuing his career.

Just seven months after the ACL surgery, it remains unclear whether Bulluck will be fully heathly in time for the start of the regular season. 

However, the Giants are expected to get him back and then place him on injured reserve with a torn ACL.

Teams will have a chance to claim Hixon before the Giants do that, but it’s unlikely anyone wants Hixon and his torn ACL.

Hixon returned one punt for a touchdown last year and averaged 15.1 yards per return, one of the best in the league.

The Giants will certainly miss his abilities on special teams more than his wide receiver skills.

The Giants finished well below expectations last year, missing out on the playoffs entirely.

He said he isn’t overly concerned about his job speculation, saying that every year is important no matter what.

Coughlin said that even after winning the Super Bowl, the only acceptable result is winning it a second time.

Rumors continue to swirl that Bill Cowher is holding out for the Giants job, which has added an interesting twist to the whole thing.

New York opens the season at home against the Carolina Panthers, unveiling their new, state-of-the-art stadium.

The team will have to come off of that high in a hurry, with their next contest being a road game at Indianapolis.

The Giants have games at Green Bay, Minnesota and Houston, which will all be tough victories.

They obviously have other tough games against the NFC East, but New York can’t blame the schedule if they fail to make the playoffs against in 2010.
